Durham Scouts
About DSC
ImageDurham Scout County is in the North East of England, it covers the whole of County Durham, and the southern half of Tyne and Wear. It is bordered to the north by the Tyne running between Newcastle and Gateshead, and to the south by the valley of the River Tees. To the east there is the North Sea, and to the west the Penine ridge.

The county contains the heavily industrialised areas along the lower reaches of the Tyne (Blaydon, Gateshead and Jarrow) and Wear (Washington and Sunderland), but also contains large tracts of wild country in the higher reaches of Weardale and Teesdale, along with the historic University town of Durham City, with its Cathedral and Castle (The former of which was the first World Heritage Site).

It is split into 14 districts, each with several groups containing Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers
