The Dryburn Camping Competition returns to Moor House Adventure Centre on the 17 - 19 June 2011.
The whole emphasis of the event is the demonstration of good camping practice. Patrols are asked to plan and undertake their own weekend camp in the style and manner to which they are accustomed. Awards of bronze, silver and gold camping standards will be made to each team that enter, the team with the best overall camping standard will be awarded the Dryburn Cup.
Date: 17 - 19 June 2011.
Venue: Moor House Adventure Centre, Rainton Gate, Houghton-le-Spring.
Time: Patrols should arrive and pitch camp by 9pm, Friday evening. Presentation of awards; 3.30pm Sunday
Patrols: Should comprise of at least 4 and no more than 6 Scouts aged 10½-14½ years (on 17th
June – from the same Scout Troop and whose total age does not exceed 78 years.
Entries: Are unlimited. Districts and Groups may enter any number of teams.
Cost: Durham Scout camping rate of £3.50 per night x 2 nights = £7 per team member. Please note that Patrols are expected to plan and provide their own food.
