ACC (Community Impact)

Can YOU Help Us Make an Even Bigger Impact In Our Communities?

As Scouts, we help other people and strive to make meaningful, positive and long lasting impact in the communities in which we're based. We're looking for someone to support the our members plan and deliver high quality Community Impact projects across the county.

Who Are We?

Durham Scouts offers an adventurous, vibrant and busy programme for more than 6,000 young people aged 6-25 and exciting opportunities for more than 1,400 adults volunteers. As part of that we're looking to integrate even more community impact projects in our programmes - can you help us?

Who Are You?

The role of Assistant County Commissioner (Community Impact) is focused on helping our leaders fully understand what constitutes a high quality community impact project, the importance of community impact projects and how to best engage our young people in selecting, planning and delivering high impact projects in our local communities. It also includes planning and coordinating occasional county wide community impact projects and working with other national and local community organisations who can benefit from the support our members can offer and to share other programme opportunities with our leaders and young people.

No previous scouting experience is necessary, but you will likely have some background working in the youth sector. You will be comfortable working within and across different charity / not-for-profit organisations and will be comfortable both working as part of team and taking the lead on projects.

The ACC(Community Impact) will have the support of the rest of the county team as well as benefiting from experienced experts at the Scout Association who are responsible for our national 'A Million Hands' partnerships and for providing support to local community impact work.
