ACC (Programme Support)

Can YOU Drive the Delivery of Quality Programmes in the County?

We are looking to support our volunteer leaders to deliver the best quality programmes to even more young people. We're looking for someone to support the important processes of programme planning and delivery across the county.

Who Are We?

Durham Scouts offers an adventurous, vibrant and busy programme for more than 6,000 young people aged 6-25 and exciting opportunities for more than 1,400 adults volunteers. We're looking to make our programmes as exciting, engaging and as much fun as possible, and the make our leader's programme planning processes as simple as possible  - can you help us?

Who Are You?

The role of Assistant County Commissioner (Programme Support) is focused on helping our leaders fully understand the programme planning and delivery process, and to use digital tools to help plan programmes and track the achievements of our young people as they progress towards gaining badges and awards. Working alongside our existing sectional ACCs for Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and the Scout network, it's also about helping District Team members to better support programme delivery in their Districts.

You will most likely have current or previous leadership experience in the youth sector, ideally in Scouting, and will be passionate about the quality of youth programmes. A large part of this role will be about supporting the implementation and roll out of software based programme planning and tracking tools and you will almost certainly have previous computer experience and excellent digital skills.

Support

The ACC(Programme and Support) will be responsible for supporting the roll out of new programme sharing resources, programme planning tools and badge and award tracking tools as these are developed and released by the Scout Association. Support will be available from the HQ team responsible for these tools as well as from our existing team of sectional Assistant District Commissioners who are experts in the beaver, cub, scout and explorer scout programmes..
