Lead and Inspire in Seaham and District

Do you know the next Leader of Seaham and District Scouts?

Seaham and District Scouts are looking for a new lead volunteer (District Commissioner) to take the District forward and ensure that the District is compliant, growing, youth shaped, inclusive and making a positive impact in the lives of young people in Seaham and District.

Who Are We?

Seaham and District Scouts offers an adventurous, vibrant and busy programme for more than 130 young people aged 6-25 and exciting opportunities for more than 45 adults volunteers. We will be looking for someone to lead us as we meet the growing demand for Scouting.

Who Are You?

As District Commissioner you would be responsible for leading the Scout District and ensuring that we provide high quality, safe Scouting for our young people, provide great support to our volunteers and for ensuring that we work in line with the Scout Association's vision. There are opportunities to role share and spilt responsibilities and individual or 'team' applications will both be viewed positively by our search group.

A comprehensive induction is provided which covers traditional Scouting knowledge and previous membership is not essential. We also provide management and development training and as part of the role induction you will be invited to our UK HQ at Gilwell Park to meet with the HQ staff who will provide you with advice and support. Support is also provided by a team of Assistant Commissioners in the District as well as the District Executive Committee and the Durham Scout County Commissioner.
