New Programme Planning Tool

9 December 2019

The Scouts have launched an exciting new programme planning tool. While this can be used by any young leaders, section leaders or assistant section leaders, it is ideal for those new to programme planning.

You can quickly and easily download an entire year’s worth of programmes for beavers and cub scouts, plan a term's worth of programmes using the programme ideas in the database, or simply use the tool to plan your own programmes using as many or as few of the on-line programme ideas as you need. There are also lots of ideas for staged activity badges applicable to all sections.

All programme ideas are quality checked and include essential information with respect to safety advice, making the activities fully accessible and reflecting on how the well the programme went. Although experienced leaders will still want to use a wide range of sources for programme ideas, the new HQ programme planning tool is the easiest tool to use and is one which guarantees programme quality.

The new tool has a great easy-to-use interface which allows you to drag and drop ideas to a calendar, swap around programme ideas and change timings - you can see a recorded webinar of the new programme planning tool in action at https://digital.scouts.org.uk/watch-our-programme-planning-webinar/

You can access the new programme planning tool at https://scouts.org.uk/programme-planner/plan

Note that the new programme planning tool is being developed in an 'agile' manner, which basically means that what you see now will only get better over the coming months as new features are added.
