Targeted Funding Support for those who...

• Groups lack outdoor space and don’t own their own premises
• Groups are situated in areas of high deprivation
• Have members who would be left behind if funding support was not given to assist in costs for activities.

To secure funding groups will need to...

• Cost activities, submit an application with Quotes for activities they want funding support—this can be for a 6 days of adventure
• Maximum Funding available per Group is £1500

Groups will need to complete monitoring at the end of funding...

• This will need to include the numbers/ age range of participants skills learnt ( Overall)
• Any badges/awards achieved and how funding helped members with some pictures.
• Copies of receipts will need to be forwarded within 8 weeks of end of project date.

Note: Groups with a mixed group with a % who could benefit from funding support could for example plan for £1000 worth of activities stating that 40% require financial support. This would generate £400 from the fund to support activities. No paperwork to determine financial need is required from youth members, Leaders can use their group knowledge.

Examples: Water-sports, Moor House Sessions, Forest Days, Horse Riding, Backwood Cooking, Travel costs.

This funding has been allocated to trial a new method of support by Bernard Sunley Foundation, we are therefore wanting groups to apply asap and to collect data/pictures to support evidence which in turn will help Durham Scouts to secure further funds from this very supportive Foundation.

Other Opportunities

If your group does not fit the above criteria, there is another fund being allocated through Community Foundations. This fund will support groups who can show that Covid has impacted on their finances and support a program of activities for young people and running costs.
